Let me know what results you get and I can further assist you If the recovery partition is corrupt try booting in to single user mode and running a file system check: While in recovery, you should run a test on your hard drive using disk utility: This boots to a recovery environment where you can further diagnose wether your files are present and if you can boot back to the drive. If its not there, then power down the laptop and hold CMD+R before booting. To boot in to the Recovery HD, you can select it from the option boot menu and it should be titled Recovery. If no Macintosh HD is visible there may still be chance to recover files from it. If you see any drives that are names Macintosh HD that means you might still be able to boot to it, so just select the hard drive and click the arrow below it. Keep option pressed until you see some hard drive icons or a globe spinning. You can do this by having the computer powered down, then pressing and holding option key followed by a quick press of the power button all while holding option. First try an option boot, to see if there are any bootable drives discovered.
